Please have your idea/theme ready to go for class on Tuesday. Begin to work out the design in your signature. Come up with the color pallet. I will look at these on Tuesday, so use the signature!
In class we will color our mulberry paper. If you have foam brushes, bring some. If you want to experiment with other materials like fabric or leaves, bring them.
Create a collage on the next spread in your signature. Use found, collected or "you made" materials to create a collage that tells something about you or something that you believe in.
Your collage must be based on one of the color contrasts.
1. Contrast of hue -use only pure, saturated primaries and secondaries, along with black and white (not mixed with the colors, but on their own) 2. Contrast of value -use a monochromatic color scheme; chose one hue, along with tints and shades of it 3. Contrast of temperature -explore extreme temperatures by creating a composition that has both orange-red (very warm) and blue-green (very cool) 4. Contrast of Saturation -use a color scheme of 80% muted colors (you mixed them in those swatches when you combined complimentaries), and 20% pure saturated colors; explore the illusion of depth that happens 5.Contrast of Extension -use a complimentary pair of red and green (diluted and/or saturated), more of one and less of the other 6.Contrast of Complimentary -use a color scheme of yellow and violet, diluted and/or saturated 7.Simultaneous Contrast -use neutral grays along saturated colors, and explore how the more saturated colors optically affect the neutrals
